Local Engagement

Local Engagement

Despite our international and national reach, GIA remains deeply rooted in the local communities where we originated. We are, first and foremost, a grassroots-led, localized movement that believes in the power of community-driven change. Our headquarters are in Karachi, and our influence extends across the Sindh province, with active operations in Larkana, Sukkur, and Hyderabad—cities that strategically cover the northern, central, and southern regions of Sindh. At the local level, GIA collaborates closely with other grassroots movements and collectives, recognizing that the fight for transgender rights is inherently intersectional. Our key local partners include Sindh Moorat March, Aurat March Karachi, Minority Rights March, Students Rights March, Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, and Baloch Yakjehti Committee. Through these partnerships, we work collectively to address a broad spectrum of issues, from gender justice and minority rights to political activism and social reform. Our local efforts are not just about advocacy; they are about building a supportive, inclusive community where every individual can thrive.
