Sessions organized to aware TG community
Every month, 10-15 community clients were aware through session provided by community counselor the purpose of session is selected on monthly basis and based on demand or required by community and session helps to make community able to handle life challenges, to build strong relationships and recovery from illness and to teach them how to cope up with the issues of life.
Food Support to reduce the Impact of COVID-19
Our respected community member and Outreach worker along with officials of GIA made an effort for deprived community and made alliance with civil society and local donors and asked for donation in-form of food and immunity boosters to help community in this pandemic situation to reduce the burden of COVID-19.
Protest against sexual violence on TG
The staff of Gender interactive alliance and community gathered at Press Club to protest against sexual violence targeting transgender people in Pakistan. The Khawaja Sira community expressed solidarity with trans-women who were gang raped and tortured in Karachi and asked for the justice from government.
Walk to raise voice against violence

Training Organized on Leadership Skills
The aim of this Training is to provide
awareness on leadership styles and role
of community leaders in Pakistan and
how much it’s important for them to
learn about leadership and its styles and
training provided by Programme Manager
of Gender interactive alliance.

The aim of this event was to
commemorate World Aids Day and to
organize the community mobilization
event to raise awareness, End isolation.

Ramzan Ration Drive
We are distributing ration bags to
needy from 2018 till yet. In 2018, we
Ramzan Ration
Drive
had distributed 6000 ration bags to
community and support PHLIVs as well.
In 2019 and 2020, the ration bags
quantity had been increased due to
pandemic. Moreover, in last the year
2022, we had distributed around 7800
ration bags as well as eidi & clothes.
Economical empowerment
GIA has also focusing on economical
empowerment and from November 2021
to till date, GIA has empowered 15
underprivileged and HIV reactive
transgender with small business setups
for make their better economical
conditions. GIA has developed a
transgender support group to provide
consultancy on transgender protection
bill for further amendments as initial
draft has some conflicts with
transgender community therefore the
team of GIA with the consultancy of
grass root community and along with
technical expert has drafted revised
version of transgender protection bill.
Implemented HIV Prevention Camps
GIA has successfully implemented the
HIV prevention Camps program with the
collaboration of Sindh AIDs Control
Programme (SACP) and Establish
Community Centre.
Advocacy with police department
GIA has organized meetings and
developed linkages with IG Sindh and SP
level Representation to get support for
transgender violence cases and
different issues. Since 2018 to till date
GIA has handle 8 murder cases with 68
violence Cases along with justice. Sindh
police has selected focal person from
GIA staff her name is shahzadi Rai
(Violence case Manger).
Nomination at Pakistan Peace Awards
Our DIC/Field Supervisor and Also well-
known Activist has selected as final
round of nominees in Pakistan peace
awards. It was first ever in happened in
Pakistan that transgender person has
got nomination in peace awards.
Political Participation of Transgender Community
Few glimpses of our Strong advocacy
movement. GIA has advocate and lobby
Election commission, participation in
well-known political party PPPP and
developed separate transgender wing,
also got the reserve seat local
government and Recently GIA has
implementing ALP (Adults Literacy
Program) with support of education
Minster.
Voting Rights Trainings with 5major Cities In Sindh
GIA had earlier managed to teach 200
transgender persons in December 2023
in five major cities of Sindh, including
Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur,
and Jacobabad. It was an online
training series designed to empower the
transgender community to get out and
vote. The immediate result was a
notable surge of transgender voter
turnout in the general election that
reflected this increased activism and
excitement among the transgender
community.
Signing MOU With Pathfinder Internationals to Conducted Youth Lead Survey on SRHR
In September 2023, GIA and Pathfinder
International, through their FHM Engage
project, signed an MOU to launch a
pioneering Youth-led Digital Survey.
This initiative aims to bridge data gaps
and empower youth for enhanced
family planning in Sindh. Additionally,
Pathfinder proudly hired transgender
youth representative, Miss Aradhiya
Khan, as Co-Investor of this
transformative survey, underscoring
their commitment to inclusive
representation.
Organized Training about Effective Representation and Networking for transgender leaders.
After getting them representation in
local governments, GIA organized a
province wide training on December
2023 for transgender leaders and youth
representatives from across Sindh -
including Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabad,
Sukkur and Jacobabad. Centred around
representation and public speaking with
a focus on equipping participants with
knowledge and skills on how to respond
to community problems and orientative
in terms of lobbying against solutions.
In response, the talent and abilities of
our transgender leaders shined brighter
and better prepared to advocate for
the needs of the transgender
community.
Retreat (Improving Mental Health and providing Safe Space for community)
The retreat aims to provide a sanctuary
where transgender members can
engage in mental health sessions
facilitated by professional and
community-friendly therapists, as well
as participate in games and share their
life experiences. Through this
initiative, the GIA team endeavors to
create a nurturing space that fosters
healing, empowerment, and solidarity
within the transgender community
Winner from KE- Karachi Award In Inclusive Category.
K-Electric annually hosts an award
called the Karachi Award, which
recognizes organizations in Sindh that
work for social welfare. Gender
Interactive Alliance won the Karachi
Award for the first time in the category
of Inclusion, which honors organizations
that have further promoted inclusion.
This was a significant achievement for
us in February 2024.
Media Sensitization Training
The primary purpose of the media
sensitization training conducted by the
GIA team for media representatives and
journalists regarding transgender
gender identity is to foster
understanding, awareness, and
sensitivity towards issues faced by the
transgender community. Through this
training, the aim is to address
misconceptions, biases, and stereotypes
prevalent in media coverage
surrounding transgender individuals
