Our Vision

Gender Interactive Alliance envisions an inclusive and evolved society that reveres the historical and indigenous traditions of the khawajasira system, a society where everyone, irrespective of their gender identity, is encouraged to exist harmoniously with the environment and one another. We aspire to a world that recognizes the spectrum of gender identities beyond the male-female binary, where everyone is free to express their gender without fear of stigma or discrimination, and where every individual can access their fundamental rights.

Objectives of GIA Pakistan

  • Increase Visibility and Acceptance: Broaden the horizons of our advocacy to uplift transgender, gender queer, non-binary, and intersex individuals by reintegrating the age-old wisdom of the khawajasira system and promoting understanding and acceptance in the society.

  • Empowerment through Self-Realization: Develop programs and workshops that not only build self-esteem but also harness the ancestral knowledge embedded in the khawajasira system for a holistic personal and professional development.

  • Health Advocacy: Strengthen and expand our existing health programs, focusing not only on reducing the rate of new HIV infections in Sindh but also promoting overall wellness and harmony with nature.

  • Economic Justice: Advocate for sustainable economic policies that draw from indigenous knowledge to foster economic justice and create opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment for transgender Pakistanis.

  • Engagement with Stakeholders: Intensify our advocacy efforts with stakeholders, to work towards a society that honors and integrates the principles of social harmony and environmental justice inherent in the khawajasira tradition.

  • Community Development: Establish, promote, and support community development programs rooted in the values of the khawajasira system, including outreach initiatives that address trans-related issues such as health, domestic violence, and democratic rights not only in Karachi but also in rural areas of Sindh.

  • Comprehensive Support: Serve the transgender, gender queer, non-binary, intersex communities and their allies through a network of support systems, including community care centers that offer a safe space free from stigma and discrimination.

  • Safeguarding Rights: Engage politically to safeguard the democratic rights of the community, encouraging political empowerment and active participation in the democratic processes to uphold and protect the rights of the vulnerable sections of the society.
